Spec in Sig.

From evererest it tells me that the temp of my cpu is around 55-56 degrees C
with me just brosing the internet/ forums. is this temp a bit high?

CPU is non overclocked and has an arctic cooling freezer 7 pro cooler on it.

(also it shows my GPU as 76 idle. is that a bit hot?)

That cpu temp is normal. Its when you exceed 60.1c is when its a problem. So if you idling at 55ish then you will probably be over 60 at load. Verify your heatsink is installed and fans are pointed in the right direction.

You GPU temp is very hot imo. Mine runs about room temperature which is about 45c under load. Anything more than 60 i think is just frying components.

Just crashed, on reboot went into bios and it said temps were 49-50
does that mean everest is measuring the temps wrong?

No it doesn't mean Everest's measurements are wrong. The CPU generally runs very slow while in the BIOS. My MSI 975X Platinum motherboard tells me that the E6600 runs at about 800MHz while in the BIOS. Therefore, the BIOS will report a lower temperature than Everest because of the low clockspeed.

The temps of my E6600 @ 3.0GHz are 39C/40C while idle, and 55C/56C under full load. I think you need to reseat your HSF. Use a bit of rubbing alcohol and a lint free cloth to wipe away the thermal paste on both the heatsink and CPU. Then reapply.
