Asus P5W DH Deluxe ... need help with installing PATA HDD!

i just can't figure out how to install my old PATA HDD in this mb. I tried blue IDE slot and connected my two PATA HDD ... it worked! Fine. But, since I have two optical drives, i needed this slot for connecting the optical drives. So, that left me with black Jmicron EIDE slot for the PATA HDD. The problem is that when i connect two HDD to Jmicron EIDE slot, the mb doesn't recognize the HDDs. I used black cable (labeled CD -cable) for connecting the HDDs (since i used HDD cable for blue slot. ... but, it shouldn't matter since i tried to switch the cables too.)

Now, i used 250GB SATA HDD to install windows ... and everything is fine ... except for those PATA HDD! I really need the data on those HDDs

Any idea???

Hey grunt123,
Get this IDE to SATA150 adaptor for it so you can get the info!
You will need to get another SATA cable though....

thx for the info. ... but, that kinda sucks tho. I should be able to connect PATA to the mb without any converter ...

Hey, I forgot that the adaptor comes with a SATA cable so you don't have to purchase another one. My bad!!
