Making Screenshots Easily

Slightly off topic, but since it's NFS's prevention of alt-tabbing (at
least for HP & HS, and under Win98, no idea for any of the other NFSes or
Windows) and lack of any sort of in-game screenshotting forcing one to
constantly exit & reload for every single shot you want to take...

Anyone here know of a decent screenshot tool that'll just immediately save
the shot(s) somewhere with a single keypress (preferably the normal print
screen button and not requiring ctrl/alt manipulation and being smart enough
to know when the game you're playing wants to use said key)?

Thanks. Seems to do the job, though its framerate counter's annoying.
Pity it can't really be usefully configured, though. (eg, being able to set
the output directory, filename format [it just uses the date & time for the
filename], file type to save as, etc....) Still, it should be good
enough...

You can turn off the frame rate counter, go to frap's settings, and instead
of picking a corner for framerate, select disable. (Unless this is only
allowed in the paid for version that also captures sound).

Dunno about that - I'm stuck with the Win9x version. :)

HyperSnap-DX is still there...

So you mean pressing PrintScr will put the screen data into the clipboard?

If the answer is a yes, then it's a simple to write a program to monitor the
clipboard at regular intervals, check the content, and write it to a file.

But is the answer a yes?

Alternatively, many image editing tools include a screen capture utility (I
use PaintShopPro myself, as I got a bundled copy when buying hardwares). And
there's programs like SnapIt! which specifically deals with screen capture.
You might google around for some free tools...
