I thought I read that particular moboard is really very good at overclocking conroe.

Corsair XMS2 6400C4 2k at 800mhz 4-4-4-12
Sapphire X1900XT 512MB
OCZ GameXStream 700W
Why get the expensive ram, when regular ol DDR2 677 will do? Why throw down the extra $100 for the 512 MB card, when the performance difference has been rated around 2%? Same thing with the power supply. 700 watts? For a Conroe chip, non-SLI/CrossFire? Beginning to sound like he just bought whatever the salesman told him to. That said...

Thermaltake Tsunami Modern Dream with 1x90mm 2x120mm
SAMSUNG 940MW-SV 19" 8ms Widescreen LCD w/ TV Tuner and remote
Saitek Eclipse Black
Razer Plasma Diamondback and eXactMat mousepad
This stuff looks like crap. All of it, individually. And none of it goes together. Now, the crescendo:

Total: est. $2,380
Bah. This rig can be built for half that. Holy redistribution of wealth, batman. My biggest regret is I didn't steal all that money from him. Could've made two computers, sold him one and kept the other.

- There's nothing wrong with the case, plenty of room there. Good quality also.
- I don't know about the monitor, but if you feel like to, check out the Dell LCD's, and see if some of them fits your budget.
- Keyboard and mouse are good choices.
- You do want a 512 MB video card. Maybe right now it doesn't make a difference, but it will really soon.
- Maybe Sunburn is right about the memory. The C2D platform doesn't benefit from "high speed/low latency" RAM as much as an AMD platform. But, if you can buy it, why not?
- About the PSU, I already told you, go as big as you can. The more powerful, the better. Even though your whole system doesn't reach 700W (and it doesn't).
- You don't need the blower. With 2 case fans (front intake - back exhaust) you should be fine.

One advice: Do a proper case wiring job, for optimal airflow. You might want to search some tutorials about it, there are a lot of them around the net.

Good luck!
