Good Luck. Next time build your own computer or go to a local computer shop and have one custom built in your price range.
NEXT TIME! build it yourself. It might cost you 3 to 7 percent more then going with DELL or some other OEM system builder but you will have the opportunity to purchase components which are upgradeable.

I second that! I ran into a similiar problem back in 1999 when I bought a Compaq system that didn't have a AGP slot. I didn't know anything about computers then and I swore to NEVER buy from a retailer again (except to buy the parts individually and put it together myself). Sure I probably pay more then if I would've bought from Dell or whomever, but at least I know that I have quality parts and I know what the upgrade paths are I've only built about 8 systems in the last 1 1/2 years, so I'm still alittle new to making systems, but I'm definately happier with my systems. GL with your upgrades!
Oh, God... this card gives you 20 FPS in Farcry at 1024x768 with no AA and no AF? This is pretty pathetic.... Not even sure if it is worth buying at all. Not for any kind of gaming anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion.
When I purchased the Dell it was originally going to be a MCE PC and not used for other work.
However things have changed and I only really need to play the occasional game, and as my old PC is only an Athlon XP 3000 with a GeForce 4200 - the Dell is a P4 3Ghz with 2Gb Ram is much quicker - but with a really poor video card.
I'll see if I can source the card suggested - it's the X1300 that Dell surrently ship with their more expensive PC's!!
Have people purchased from NewEgg and had items shipped to the UK?

Did you expect it to not have to display any graphics? If you wanted to display HD or high res, you will need more video memory, so even for a MCE it won't cut it. The good news is for a MCE, you could probably find a PCI card that would do an OK job, like a 256Meg 5200 or something similar.
Generally speaking you could pop any PCI-express card into that slot and it should work but at 1/16th of its usual maximum bandwith. I say buy a regular PCI bus video card and you would be better off... at least performance wise.
