I just bought a Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT Superclocked to play F.E.A.R. and Oblivion the only 2 games I have, Oblivion works great, but everytime I start FEAR it starts messing up with rainbow colors and the screen melts, now it reboots my computer every time I enter FEAR, is my Graphics card not enough for this game?? My monitor is a Samsung 204B 20.1" with DVI connection, could it be on a wrong setting??

Do I Need a better Graphics card?

500W PSU
AMD 3800+ 2.4Gb
2GB RAM
200GB Sata HD
ASUS MB
GeForce 7600GT Superclocked\soon to be Radeon X1900 XTX

Okay. What in the world does this mean?

:?: Are you using the latest drivers?
:?: Have you installed the latest patch for F.E.A.R.?

i second slava. Make sure you have the latest drivers for everything. If you can run Oblivion smoothly it should eat FEAR fine. Sounds like a compatibility issue to me that could be solved with a driver update..

I already got sick of what was happening and exchanged the Geforce 7600GT for the ATI Radeon X 1900 XTX, so hopefully this will solve all problems and have a better outcome, unless anyone can think of any other possible problems.

Try answering the questions people are asking you. What are your specs? Are you using the latest drivers, patches ,etc.? Only then, can anyone help you.

Oops, didn't notice the Oblivion running smoothly part. Could be driver related.

i've run fear with an ati 9700 AIW so you shouldn't have any problem at all, it's probably a driver/patch issue

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the feedback, I should not get the same problem cause I get my ATI X 1900 XTX today, but if I do, I'll definately check the driver issue out.
