Currently, IMO for $249 on Newegg, the Sapphire X1900XT is.

even the light version? is better worth the extra 20 bucks

for bf2 cs source and oblivion do u really need that good of a card?

This question has been answered here, here, and here.

For BF2 and CS:S, no a 256MB X1900XT is not needed. A 7600GT would suffice for those games. Oblivion, however can bring X1900XTXs to their knees.

The X1900 XT is in a solid league higher than the X1900 GT and 7900 GT.

Worth getting for sure, IMHO.

I wouldn't count on DX10 for another 6 months at least. The Vista release candidates aren't looking too good...

yep, take a look at Toms vga charts. The 1900gt performs just slightly better (as far as fps) then the x850xt pe. All of the benchmarks show the x850xt and x1900gt hitting the same scores in many of the benchmarks. So, out of those, definately spend the extra cash for the 256 XT.

(I was about to get the x1900gt BTW, my opinion has since been swayed. Still a good card for its price though.)
