It's basically the only AMD cpu that competes with Intel in the Performance/$ category...and as such, is selling like hotcakes. AMD is stopping production of s939, so as inventory falls, the price will increase.

I figured it was a supply and demand thing It's just amazing how fast they went up after they were just reduced a couple months ago. This is the second time it's happened to me, the last was when I wanted to upgrade to a 2.4 P4, I think it was a Northwood, the early one that ran cooler. I guess procrastination doesn't solve all problems.
