Hey a few weeks ago I posted a thread about needing a new PC and needing info about a seller. Well I decided on dell and today I picked every thing out and before I ordered it I noticed that the ship date for the dell XPS 410 was OCT 26 a month away. I really don't want to wait a month for a new PC the one I have now is starting to act up and I need one soon.

I need a Gaming PC for around $1500 with these specs.

Core 2 Duo E6600
2GB Ram
ATI X1800 or 1900 or a Nvidia 7800 or 7900
250GB HDD

These are the main factors of the PC I want and Please don't tell me to build one I really don't know how and I don't want to.

I'd suggest finding a local computer build shop. They will give you a quicker turn-around... but it will cost you more. BTW, if your current PC is "acting up," it's probably a good idea to start backing up all data now.

Yeah I know how to install more ram I just want to know if I'll be ok with 1GB.

How much faster is the E6600 over the E6400?

Not that much, a little due to the extra 2MB of cache. Will save you $120 or so to drop to the 6400.

You wil be fine with 1GB right now. RAM is so expensive, it will cost you $200 from ABS to go to 2GB. Save money and get it later.

NewEgg has the ABS systems.
TigerDirect has the Systemax PCs where you can pick and choose the components.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/configdetails.asp?Base=2368505

http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/ is another website where you can shop for a pre-built system.

Systemax should be avoided at all costs. (Just like Tiger Direct)

ABS gets a glowing review.

Cyberpower fares a bit better than Systemax.

Splendid
I'd try Cyberpower. They're cheaper than Dell, they have a variety of parts listed for everything so you can get pretty much what you want, and they're fast.

Yeah I'm going with ABS The site reviews are good and I love newegg.

Glad to know the E6400 will still do me good I was wondering if the extra $170 was worth it or not.
