hi, my pc refuses to turnon when i turn the poiwer on it just make a loud high beep, stops and repeats it, it does not stop.

to turn itoffi have to rewmove the 3 pin power plug form the PSU as when it is restarted it boots up into the same thing.

If I keep repeating it may boot into windows if i am lucky but this is rare. Could this be a CPU problem, or memory (it could well be as it is rambus) or is my PSU unable to deliver the power. Nothing come up on screen unless it does boot giving me reason to believe that it is not a graphic problem.

PS: it is not the PC described below, this is my older PC but much needed it is a P4 1.5 with rambus memory

PLEASE HELP

It would really help if you listed all the components of the troubled PC, including brand names, model #s, etc.

The bios is most important. Usually one long beep means gfx, so pull that card and have a good look at it.
Mind, if the psu is not getting enough power to the board, it may not be able to turn the gfx on.
I would also think about looking at the caps around the chip. If they are leaking, or bulging, that's your problem.

Yes, it could be any of those things. It could be the graphics card, it could be the hard disks, it could be anything.

You need to do some basic troubleshooting - do you have access to a spare graphics card? How about a spare processor? PSU?

Theoretically.

If it was delivering the right amount of power before and isn't any more, it's a lot more likely to have broken totally rather than stop delivering "enough" power.

Try a replacement PSU?

You need to find out what kind of motherboard, and then go the site and look for the beep (error) codes. All beeps your motherboard makes are error codes of some kind. There should be a listing of them in your motherboard manual, if you have one.
