My HP Ipaq h5550 wi-fi is not working properly. When the PDA is hooked
up to the computer I am able to go out to the Internet. When I use the
wi-fi I am able to see router (beyond the MN-700 used as an access
point) but nothing beyond that point.
My laptops can use the wireless to get out to the Internet without any
issues but my PDA does not do it. I have used different DNS settings to
no avail.
All help is appreciated.

Well, presuming your broadcasting the network SSID from the MN-700 it probably comes down to a WEP
key issue. The SSID should be picked up automatically by your iPAQ 5555.
Try this...
Disable WEP on both the iPAQ and the MN-700. See if you get a valid IP from the MN-700 on your iPAQ.
The IP should be a 192.168.X.X address. Use either vxIPConfig or vxUtil for that...

Perhaps your access port is configured to only allows certain MAC numbers
to access the internet? You might check its parameters.

The PDA can ping the wireless AP and router. It does get a proper IP
address. For some reason it does not get beyond the router. I even have the
router wide open (no firewall). My laptop works with no problem and my
friend laptop works with no problem. The PDA also do not work in any other
wireless environments.

Check your settings:
Start>Settings>Connections>Advanced
1. Select Network: "My Work Network"
2. Select Location: "Work"
3. Network Card: Tap "IPAQ USB Wireless Adaptor" on list of adaptors
On IP Address tab enter the IP address you will use on your network for the
IPAQ (eg 192.168.0.10), subnet mask (eg 255.255.255.0) and the default
gateway (router IP address).
On Name Server tab enter default gateway in DNS box
Note that I could never get my IPAQ to work on the internet with a "User
server-assigned IP address". The specific IP address technique above works
well.
On the router make sure the IP address for the IPAQ is acceptible (can use
the setup for your laptop as a test).
Does the green wireless light flash after "connecting"?
Good luck, Pete

You might try the following...
1. Power off the iPAQ.
2. Remove the battery for 5-10 seconds.
3. Reinstall the battery.
4. Power on the iPAQ and try your wireless connectivity again.
