im in the near future (within 1 month) buying my asus p5b deluxe, and a c2d, but before i make my final decision, i want some inputs. i was planning on getting the e6300, and leaving it at stock speeds until i get a little more cash to get a 3rd party cooler. looking at the e6400, it obviously runs at higher speeds at stock and it oc's better, so i was wondering if it was worth banging out an extra 40-50$ for the e6400 over the e6300?

any inputs and experiences would be great

The only difference between the 6300 and the 6400 is the clock speed. I'd just go for the 6300, and use the money that you save to get a good aftermarket cooler.

Unfortunately, I don't know much about cooling, as I'm not an overclocker.

I have an Intel Core duo 2 6600 which runs at 2.4ghz . This chip so far is great at overlclocking. Stock it runs at 266fsb x 9 for a total of 2400mhz.

I am running it at 333fsb x 9 for a solid 3000mhz
Only 80f with a zalman and perfectly stable. This chip will go higher I have yet to see how much further I can push it. My FSB is 1333mhz but in cpuz under memory its says my ram is at 416mhz Im not quite sure what the difference in memory speed is from the fsb and why thats the highest I can go. Can someone please explain to me the max speed ddr2 pc8000 should hit, and how the fsb is related to my mem speed. I have an ASUS p5w dh deluze and kingston hyper x KHX8000D2K2/1G ram.
