Hi,

I have a question about these rams.

Let's say we have Corsair XMS2 rams, but we have:

667 @ 4-4-4-12
800 @ 5-5-5-12
800 @ 4-4-4-12

how would they compared to each other? Would there be a huge performance difference between them?

I would be using a conroe e6600 , and most of the use is for gaming.

From wusy posts, it seems that the 800 5-5-5-12 is just 667 overclocked, and i dont plan to overclock much, so would the 667 be sufficient?

I guess what i am wondering is how big the gap between the 800 4-4-4-12 and the 667 is.

Thanks,

Reap

It also depends on the quality of the rams you used for overclocking. The 800 4-4-4-12 would be a good one if you can afford it. The 667 is I think the most popular ram for oc cpu since it balanced the price and performance. But some out there still uses 533 like me to oc my cpu to the limit, well at least the 840. But the higher the ram frequency with good timings, it can offer good overclocking head. So do a little research on your cpu and find out what the needed rams to oc it to the limit. As I have mentioned I find 533 3cas rams to be a good ram for my 840 to oc. With it, I didn't spend more money to get 800 4cas ram to achieve my cpu highest overclocked using my components to include the motherboard and cooling. Like I said if you an afford the 800 4cas rams then go for it.

Hey,

I figured the 667 would be better for me, cheaper price and since i plan to only mild overclock in the future, it should be more then enough for me.

Thanks for the replies
