Listen to PPC appointment voice notes from Outlook

I can add a voice note to an existing appointment on the ppc and it
syncs fine with outlook on the desktop, just no voice note.
Wait....while I was typing, I just sync'd with my home pc (Outlook
2002, SP3) and lo and behold, a "speaker" icon in the sync'd
appointment. (BTW-this appointment didn't exist on the desktop until
just now) Both work and home are utilizing the same version of outlook
(or supposed to be   ), so is this now just a sync issue? I've just
added a voice note to an appointment that exists in both ppc and
outlook, and it sync'd the voice note to the outlook appointment on
this pc. Now i'm really confused. I'm going to have to take a look at
the versions of outlook tomorrow when I have both in the same room.
The home pc is the primary, maybe that's an issue.? Bottom line:
Home pc, voice notes in appointments sync
Work pc, voice notes in appointments don't sync.
I'll report back tomorrow with any further info. Thanks!

The "notes" field in calendar/contacts/tasks is apparently very limited,
and placing any object there has a high probability of creating sync
problems including preventing the item they are embedded in from syncing
at all.

No guarantees, but you might try recording the note in a "Notes"
document, then copy the sound object and paste that into the notes
field. The only thing that is actually pasted is a pointer back to the
Notes object which is synced as PIM data if you are syncing Notes to
outlook.

I can't sync an appointment with voice recording to the PC. I got error
8004011B. Can you do that?

I can cut the recording from the appointment and paste to Notes though.
