I have an access point that I'd like to test to see how far the signal goes and how strong the signal is at points.

I don't find the windows signal meter very reliable. Does anyone know of some kind of realtime signal meter that will show me a graphical display of signal strength and link speed?

Do you have a utility that came with your wireless network card? Most cards do and they are relativley accurate. You could also use NetStumbler.

NetStumbler is probably the cheapest (free) decent site survey tool.
