Whats a good Core 2 processor motherboard? I would like to stay at a budget of $175 or less. Anything good for $150?

My only requirements are that it has good overclocking abilities and can support SLI from nvidia. Im just so confused. I have been looking at an Intel 975X Platinum motherboard.

I would love something with good cooling, IE heat pipe and if it comes with round cables thats a bonus. Oh one last thing. I need at least 2 PCI Slots. 3 would be great.

Thanks for the help.

www.newegg.com, take a look.

Nothing right now will support SLI for $175 that is worth a darn. You could go ATI crossfire with a DFI Infinity 975X/G for about $185.

Agreed. The good SLI boards are still a few monhs away. The I975 chipset is great and supports Crossfire, but they are all $200 or more.

Why do you need SLI? Do you have a 24" Flat Panel? Forget SLI until we know what impact DX10 will have. A good X1900XT or 7900GT has everything you could want today unless you are running a huge resolution!

My Rig:
Core 2 Duo X6800 Conroe (Stock Clock for Now)
Intel D975XBXLRK
Thermaltake Big Typhoon HSF
2 GB Corsair Pro PC6400 4-4-4-15
74GB 10k Raptor
ATI X1900XTX
SB Audigy 2 ZS
NEC DVD OEM Burners (x2)
Ultra X-Finity 600w SLi Certified PS
Gigabyte 3D Aurora Case

Under $200

Non SLI or crossfire - Gigabyte P965-DS3 $150

Crossfire capable - DFI Infinity 975X/G $185

Both are good overclocking boards with the latest BIOS.
