I'm up here in Vancouver, and Ive been outta the country for the last 2 months, before I left I noticed really good deals on memory modules, such as the OCZ prices at NCIX.com.. you could get a 2 gigabytes of DDR2 for around $190 CAD after rebates, now that I'm back the prices are back and a lot higher...
I'm just confused as to what might have happened that triggered these price hikes, and more importantly when the Memory prices are going back down..
because I really would like to grab 2gb of DDR2 667mhz for under $200 CAD
that sounds very reasonable to me and most people..

Welcome to the marketplace! Seems like the demand for DDR2 shot up while your were gone, so until more production converts over to DDR2 and/or demand drops, prices won't be dropping. Since AMD is switching over to DDR2 from DDR with their socket AM2, Intel's C2D's are hot (and require new MBs and frequently new RAM, too), and Vista is coming in the near future (breaking the 2GB program limit), I wouldn't expect demand to go down in the short term.
