This is a brand new build just got parts delivered two days ago. I've got it all put together, but when I boot up the monitor ends up with a no signal on it then goes into sleep mode. Tried connections, taken out gpu, I can only use dvi connector because the gpu doesn't have vga. I'm sure others have had this problem, I just need a little direction on what steps people normally take, I appreciate any suggestions.

This might be an obvious question MN, but....take a look at the back of your graphics card. For instance, I have 2 BFG 7900GT OC's and EACH card has 2 DVI inputs on the back. Now if you look at the card, there may be a number beside each dvi input. ..# 1 and # 2....these are for hooking up AND running 2 monitors at the same time.

If you have your monitor hooked up to input #2, that may be why it is not "seeing" your monitor. Think of it as input #1 being the "master" input and #2 is for the second monitor. What if ther are no numbers on the back of the card? Well gemerally, if you are looking at the back of your case with the card installed, the MASTER input should be the one on the LEFT.

I hope this helps if you haven't tried it already.

One other trouble shooting tip would be to get the monitor drivers DIRECTLY from Viewsonic's website and install them as well.
Hook up a standard crt monitor with a crt adapter and try that to see if it's not your dvi connector.

I havn't even installed the OS yet, the monitor reads "no signal" on boot. I booted it about three times and it has reached the beginning of the bios ****, but then sputters and freezes. Then about twenty more boots I get nothing but "no signal" on monitor.
Does this Mobo support ddr-800, my buddy read the manual it said it's highest 667mhz and 533mhz. The monitor has dvi and vga connections but, the GPU only has dvi connections?

CASE: Antec P180b

Tried both DVI connections many times still "no signal"

Try "bench-testing" your setup by taking it out of the case and running the MB w/only RAM and video card. If your MB uses an SLI bridge card to set SLI mode vs normal mode, make sure it is properly mounted.
