This is a brand new build just got parts delivered two days ago. I've got it all put together, but when I boot up the monitor ends up with a no signal on it then goes into sleep mode. Tried connections, taken out gpu, I can only use dvi connector because the gpu doesn't have vga. I'm sure others have had this problem, I just need a little direction on what steps people normally take, I appreciate any suggestions.

Asus p5n32-sli se deluxe

C2D E6600

Xfx 7950 GX2

2GBs corsair ddr2 800

Viewsonic vx922 dvi cable only.

Wow, where to start..... Depends on if you have all the proper cables connected. Power supply to video card, motherboard, etc. Cards seated properly? More info...

I had the same problem two weeks ago with a Core 2 Duo 6600 CPU and an Intel mobo. Because this was the second machine I had built, I swapped out every component with no results. Then I called Intel tech support. They knew immediately what the problem was. I had ordered the right KIND of RAM but was too new at building my own computer to check the RAM's specs for its voltage rating. The RAM was rated at 2.2 volts and the motherboard specified 1.8 volts. The right kind of RAM solved the problem, although I had to do a BIOS recovery procedure once I had the right RAM.

when i dont fully set RAM in it's slot it keeps the computer from working. If all cards are in properly, then maybe it's the RAM like CJBLT suggested.
