I am trying to add a folder to the Send To shortcut when you right click on
an item to Send To a destination.
I have found where that folder is
located.....C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\sendTo
I copied a shortcut of the folder that I wanted to use to this folder, but
when I close it out and try to use it, it is not showing in the options when
I right click and Send To.
The shortcut folder I am trying to add is just a folder I send my digital
photos before renaming them.

Also a folder I created in My Documents a few years back for my old Digital
Camera, I tried to rename it and it would not let me. Then tried to delete
the folder and it would not let me. Just a little confused on that one. I
don't think that it is protected. When renaming it, the error message pops
up so fast and disappears that I can't even read what it is telling me.

Any suggestions sure would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Datman

Hi Datman ... Have you try to delete this folder while in Safe Mode ??
Instruction in how to start Safe mode , Either of the 2 method will work ,
just choice one

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/fo [...] l=61#winxo

Once in Safe mode try to delete this folder and if everything goes well
restart your computer back to normal mode ...
Then recreate this folder that you would like and see then whether if it
will work

I didn't even though that was there, but that config folder is a template.
You want:
C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\SendTo
or
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\SendTo
If you want all users to have the shortcut.

Wrong folder.

You want...
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\SendTo

To open *your* SendTo folder...
Start | Run | Type: sendto | OK

Add the shortcut there.

Got it now that I realized I was saving it to the wrong place.
Also was able to delete the file that I wanted rid of by booting in the safe
mode.
Thanks a great deal to those that responded.
