Im having extreme trouble with my FPS in Day of Defeat: Source. My max FPS I've seen using "net_graph 3" is 60 (this is playing on a 800*600 resolution). Here is my setup, see if you can spot the problem.
Computer Brand: Alienware
CPU: AMD 3800+
RAM: 1GB Corsair RAM
Hard Drive: 74GB 10,000 RPM Western Digital Raptor HD
Monitor: 19' Samsung SyncMaster 955DF CRT (1280*1024 resolution @ 100hertz)
Video Card: X1900XTX 512
Power Supply: 480 WATT Alienware Power Supply
Drivers: 6.8 Catalyst Drivers
How can I be getting 60 FPS with the specs I have? Is this normal? Does anyone else has a similar setup that is having the same problem? Any tips, or help suggestions, anything will be of help.
well check for viruses and actaully try to put the resolution at 1024x768 and also when you are playing are you using
HDR and so on?
if so well 60fps isnt bad...
well on CS:S you go to Options
Video
Advanced settings (or somethings) and it will say Vsync and it will say enabled or Disabled..
and HDR is High Dynamic Range is an effect that will make everythiing BLoom
or to make it in lamens terms well its Yellowish look like in NFS MOST WANTEd.. and if you have all these things enabled then 60fps is just perfect
I play valve games, and i run well in HL2 source and day of defeat. Forsure you have to turn off vertical sync, its in your video card setting. right click on desktop - properties - settings - advanced. It should be under performace and quality settings.
I have a 3.15 pentium D duo core, 2GB DDR2 OCZ6800, nvidia 7900GS
I also have a samsung syncmaster 955DF, how did u get your refresh rate so high?
crank your screen res, 800x600 WTF!!! do atleast 1024 x 768 @ 60hz as the others say turn off Vsync, probably pay to turn it off completely in display properties, upto you about HDR, personally i dont like it, kind of like excessive gamma.
