1.5 TB Low-Power HDDs: Green Gets Big

The latest 2 TB hard drives are still expensive, but 1.5 TB disks provide low power consumption at a better cost-to-capacity ratio. We look at offerings from Samsung and Western Digital to determine the value of taking a step down from the flagships. Read more

MSI Eclipse Plus: Does nForce 200 Boost 3-Way SLI?

With 36 lanes of PCIe 2.0, 3-way SLI could be the X58 chipset’s biggest challenge. If that turns out to be true, is Nvidia’s nForce 200 controller hub, which multiplexes the platform's connectivity, a solution? We compare three configurations to find out. Read more

Does anyone know if there is current HP iPAQ that has a suitable sound
output for use (in car) with a Navman GPS4420 (my h5550 is just too quiet to
use - see previous post). I suppose any Bluetooth PDA with a suitable volume
would be OK (please suggest one if you know), but I would prefer not to have
to buy a new car active PDA mount - so a unit with a 5550 compatible port
would be the most desirable option. Has anyone any experience of the sound
level on the Navman integrated GPS Pocket PC's (Navman PIN's)?.

FWIW I drive a 4WD Toyota HiLux Turbo Diesel
http://hilux.toyota.com.au/Hilux/HomePage/0,,,00.html and provided the
radio isn't up too loud the Navman PiN is well audible.

The main gripe I have is the $$$ required to update maps :-(

Chris.

I use a 5550,this will solve your problems.
http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/audia [...] eview.html .If
you also play music from your PDA at the same time this gives you the
best of both worlds. Guidance & Entertainment. I use Audia X ver 1 and
also use it to stream music round the house from my PC etc etc

Why not pair your Bluetooth headset with the ppc, I did mine and haven't
looked back. I'm using Navigon on a h55 and, without the headset, the
sound is fine at 90%, but it is mounted to the right of the steering
wheel.
