A x1800XT or a x1900GT they both have 256mb, but the XT has way higher clock speeds, 200mhz on the memory, and 50mhz on the core.

I would go with the x1800xt, but if you can shell out 40 bucks more, you can go for the x1900xt 256mb from Sapphire on newegg. A contender from the nvidia side would be the 7900GS being that it can overclock very close to GT speeds, and still in the price range your looking for. Have fun. :D

The X1800XT usually bests the X1900GT but the margins are fairly close. If both cards were the EXACT same price, or if the X1800XT were cheaper then I'd definately go with the X1800XT. However, given that the X1900GT is $14.00 cheaper I think it is a better value for the performance.

X1800XT performs better in pretty much all benchmarks. But the difference isn't mind-blowing.

Ok, X1800XT it is! And i cant pull more money out of my ass, well actually i can im just trying not to blow half my money on a computer, i have 1700$.

Meh, theres a 15$ rebate on the X1900XT, so im gettin it, 235 after rebate. 732$ After rebates for a E6300, 2GB RAM, X1900XT, and a MoBo.

There's really nothing to defend. The cheapest X1800XT in Canada at the time was like $500.

I'd also say get X1900XT for $235 AR. But of your two, the X1800XT is better and worth the $15 extra. There is no bad choice as they are all great cards for the money. It's just personally I think the X1900XT is easily the best bargain though.

I'm going out tonight around 9:15....and I'm kinda board, because I'm already ready to go....so I think I"m going to put up an "official" list.
It will be an evolving document, that grows (or shrinks :lol: ) over time.
It'll be in the community section....you'll see it (coincidently the first thread I've made here) So I"m going to quickly skim through the entire THG forum and look for posts, and people that stand out. Again over time many will be added....but prozac, you should definetly stop by and check it out soon.
