Hi everyone

I want a top-line card, but won't spend the money until dx10 cards (with their better longevity) are on the market.

What I'm after in the meantime is a good quality stop-gap card which will do justice to an Asus P5W DH Deluxe/C2D E6600 system.

Having said that, bear in mind that I currently own an ATI Radeon 9800XT card, and will be basing any comparisons on that card's performance!

Price range is $150-$200, which I'd rather not go above as I'll be essentially replacing this card in 6 months anyway.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks.

X850XT and 7600GT are good in the low $100 range for next couple of months.

I would suggest you look at the 256mb X1900XT for about $240.

If you're planning on upgrading in 6 months, get a 7600GT. It's below your budget, a huge upgrade from a 9800XT, and should get you through to your DX10 upgrade.

7600 GT, if you want something that'll last a year easily though... the X1900 XT 256mb is awesome for $250 or so.
