Hi,
Just recieved a 120gb seagate Hard Drive (sataI Barracuda 7200.7) from an ebay seller. It's an exact match to the one I already have.
Building a new system, but don't have all components yet so I thought I would test the drive on my current system.
I have 3 drives on that system.. two ata and the sata. One of the ata drives has windows on it and the sata also has windows (use that to boot a relatively clean version of windows for gaming).
I simply replaced my current sata drive with the new one and powered on.
Getting a boot error...asking me to insert bootable disk.
Rehooked up old sata and it started right up again.
So I changed my boot.ini to take out the line about the second version of windows, powered down and swithed to the new sata drive again.
same error...
do I have a bad disk or am I just doing something wrong?

mobo = abit is7

any input appreciated.
thanks

Need to change the setting in the bios so that it boots from the IDE drive. It's still set to boot from the SATA drive.

hi mp... i changed the primary boot priority to the ide when I changed the boot.ini
did'nt work... is there another setting in bios perhaps?
