After 2 or 3 years of microsoft wireless I am sick of it and i am changing.
Ok so here is what I am going to do:
Downstairs I am going to have the D Link DGL 4300 wireless router connected to my DSL box. Two computer will be wired to that router. Now upstairs I have a PS2 and XBOX so I was wondering if I could get the D Link DGL 3420 game adapter and plug that into a wired Netgear ethernet router upstairs which the ps2 and xbox will plug into. So I am hoping that the game adapter will detect the wireless router downstairs and then provide internet access through the wired Netgear router to the ps2 and xbox at the same time.
well the router that i would use upstairs is a wired Netgear RP614..its just been lying around so I thought I would use it. Would it work for that ad-hoc thing you were talking about?
I don't know if that router supports it or not. It's basically going device-to-device; and you would want to do that wirelessly, hence the question on the router capability. I'll allow someone familiar with that router take a stab at it.
You could definitely go with two of the adapters, but that would seem rather pricey. you could buy one and just plug in whatever game system you are using (that is if you only have one going at a time.)
