Does anyone know where I can buy a NEW Sony FD AG 19" CRT monitor for less than the $350-450 wanted by SONY and DELL?
Does an AG CRT mean that SONY makes the CRT? I am open to NEC, VIEWSONIC, OPTIQUEST, SAMSUNG, HITACHI, etc, I am in California and dont want $50+ shipping charges but would like the 3 year warranties that MOST manufacturers offer. NO KDS -HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH KDS AND KDS SUCKS!
Thank you.

No, AG simply means aperture grill. Trinitron is the Sony brand name for its aperture grill monitors. Others use brand names like, Diamondtron, Natural Flat, Avitron, for aperture grill monitors.

Hitachi uses shadow mask CRTs, their brand is Ergo-flat.

I got a 19" Sony CPD-G400 at Sam's for $300. I think that's a good deal - if you can find it.

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous - FrothyShake.

You are knowledgeable. What other manufacturers offer a SONY FD AG 19" monitor but it is not common knowledge?
I'd like to get the SONY 19" but not pay the high SONY $400+ price. Thanks again.

How do I translate the horizontal dot pitch number into diagonal dot pitch number? Is it simply the Pythagorean theorem?
Thank you.

KDS used to use Sony CRTs, some Dell models also use them, however most use the Mitsubishi NF CRT.

and download the "Dot pitch explained" paper. This is the best explaination of dot pitch and how it is measued that I know of.

Sam's Club has them. I just saw the Sony 19" for $299. The web site doesn't always show everything that is in the store.

Are you the friend who works on computers?

Yeah went to the biggest local SAMS CLUB today and they never heard of any nor sell any SONY monitors. They said to check their site (I did) and their site turned up nothing. They only sell 17" CTX and KDS monitors at SAMS now. maybe store specific and you got ver very lucky. AM now looking for an NEC FE950+..about $300 and I can/dont want to pay $400+ for the SONY..it cant be all that much better than the NEC multisync above. Thanks anyway.
