And, as a bonus, this scanner does not require one of those space consuming,
ugly power "bricks". It gets its power from the USB connection. Because of
that you may need a direct to the computer or powered extended USB connection.

I'm running one off a cheap laptop and it needs no extra power, its a great
little scanner

mine worked immediately with no 'power' problem.
Not like my external modem which won't connect at anything faster than 33.3
Kbps.
