Planning new XBX2 Build - How would you........

OK, since I've been waiting anyway, I'm going to wait another 6 weeks and get the XBX2 for my new system build, probably with an e6600. But I'm still $$ limited, so I have this dilemma:

The "pile" of h/w I have to migrate is all IDE - nothing SATA, and SATA will just have to wait. (I'd rather get the system up now than sit idle for 3 months to afford something SATA.)

I have:
2 Maxtor 200G IDE
1 Hitachi 200G IDE
1 NEC DVD IDE
1 Philips DVD IDE
1 Zip IDE
1 Promise ATA/133 controller

How would you configure/connect these?

I can use the SATA/IDE adapters and go directly to the SATA ports on the MB, or I can use the onboard IDE controller along with the Promise controller.

Or any combination in between.

What would you do? Where should the boot drive be?

Any other thoughts?

This system needs stability, so OC'ing isn't a great concern - I *might* play with that sometime in the future.

Thanks for your advice!

OK, so everyone agrees that staying with direct IDE connections is the best way to go - no benefit to using SATA via adapters on the IDE drives?

Anyone have an opposing/different opinion?
