i need a new vidoe card. which would be better the 7600gs 512 or the 7800gs 256? yeah i m stuck with agp can't seem to let it go just yet. really dont want to upgrade hole cp for at least a year. i mainly play games like bf2 and soon bf2142. my system is a 3.06ht p4 2 gig ram if that helps.

(Much) faster than the 7600GS, not as fast as the 7800GS. Same price as the 7600GS, much cheaper than 7800GS.

Yeah, the 7800GS is too much to spend on AGP. I would suggest a 7600GT, or X850XT. But, since both cannot not be currently found in stock for a good price, I'm gonna have to agree with Angry_Ducky.

I second the 7800GS. So the memory size threw you huh? Personally, I don't know why manufacturers put 512MB VRAM on mid-range graphics cards, as I seriously doubt they ever use anywhere near that much. I guess it's a clever marketing scheme.

Always go for a faster core (if it's actually a different core, not just a difference in core speed) rather than more memory. The only exception would be if the faster core has a serious lack of memory (say, if an X1900 had 64MB, lol). But this is extremely unlikely anyway.
