cdrom drives are recognized by bios and device manager, but not by windows explorer. device manager flags drives with yellow highlighted "!".
the driver files apparently got currupted and i replaced them and things were fine until itunes was run, reverting back to problem. booting in safe mode, the drives get recognized and can read a disk. in one of the attempts the error code 37 popped up "can't load device driver. HELLLLLP.

hi
usually cd-drives does not need drives.
it is regonized automatically by the system.or the system has drives for them.
but if you say that the drive is highlightet in device manager it means that something wrong with it.
i suppose the driver is configured correct as master or slave driver.
all you can do i try to update the driver and let windows specifay which driver is best.
try unistalling i tunes.
They do require drivers still, but they are incorperated into windows. Open properties and select Driver Details and look for the driver in use and download it off the internet and replace it...
Or...
