Hello

I am running vista rc1 on asus p5nd2 sli deluxe edition. I have an overclocked pd 830. I can not use my asus temp probe software with vista. I have no idea how hot is my system now. Can anyone tell me some temp measuring software that can do the job with vista.

Thanks.

well, considering that your CPU is overclocked and has a water cooler, you should be fine.

My C2D E6600 idles @ 1.14V 1.6GHz @ 42-44C with C1E and SpeedStep Enabled. That's with stock cooler.

Does your CPU lower the clock as well as the voltage when it idles?

Btw, can you ask Falcon where in the world to get that CPU cooler?! I've been looking for it and can't find it anywhere (as in a retailer). All I find are specs on it. :(

Other note: Nice Rig! Wish I had $10K to invest in a computer :p

Where can I get more info about downclocking when it's in idle. Havent heard about this before. How do I set that up?

Thanks.

Go into your BOIS and enable SpeedStep and C1E and then when you are in Windows, go to your Power Management and Select Portable/Laptop for Power Options. Open up CPU-Z and you should see your CPU downclocking and lowering voltage when idle. On my computer, my temps drop as well from 50C to 42C idle, but that's because it's running at 1.6GHz @ 1.14V instead of 2.4GHz @ 1.3V. (Volts are rounded)
