I have to upgrade some computers here at my work place and the only question I have will be what type of video card to buy. Basically we will be upgrading the computers for our Publishing department who use software such as Quark, Adobe CS2 and a few others.
Here are the 2 choices I was looking at: 1. Nvidia, Quadro FX 3450 (256) 2. Nvidia 7900GTX (512)
Can anyone tell me anything about the Quadro as I haven't got a clue when it comes to real graphics cards for graphics. I do however know the 7900GTX and what it brings to the table. I'm assuming the Quadro is more for huge monitors and some kind of graphic design.
Side note these people are using 21" flat screens that are 4 years old.
More abouthelp needed selecting video card
For desktop publishing? Both of those cards are ridiculously overpowered.
For 2d programs like Photoshop, Quark, Illustrator- whatever - these cards will do absolutely nothing for you that a sub $100 X1300 PRO won't do.
Good to know thanks for the info I'll take a look at some other setups.
