At 300$ CDN, same price as GC and PS2, Xbox is the biggest bargain of them all. Seriously you get the NV20-25 hybrid technology, hard drive, DVD, built-in high speed internet ready port, it's an AIW from MS!
Now if it had PS2's library, Xbox would definitly win hands down.
Anyway for Canadian pricing, a lot have been pleased by the new price here.

ya the gamecube is great. My father bought it. But i want one that is mine. ANd since the PS2 has the final fantasy series and metal gear and all of the psone games i think i'll get the ps2 instead of the xbox.
PLus the ps2 looks cooler and the controllers are better too.

I was playing DOA3 on the XBox, and I found the tiny hard to press buttons on the pad rather annoying. And the super ergonomic pad was giving me a definite strain in my right hand. sometimes I play tekken on the PS2 and eventually I do get a strain, but not after a couple of rounds. Then again, I don't hold the pad as intended. I hold it so I press the buttons with my fingers instead of using my thumb. But it works on the PS2 pad.

Xbox definetly. Gamecube looks like crap- I've played a few games on it, and they had poor graphics compared to XBox....gamecube reminds me of N64 w/ the sprites. PS2 isn't very advanced either....

Kind of funny since the gamecube has slightly better graphics power than the xbox.
lol whats so advanced about an aging pentium III? or a 10GB hard drive? The only thing it has is the nvidia graphics.
The xbox is a better system but it doesn't have the games that the PS2 (final fantasy series, metal gear) has or the game cube (Zelda, Metroid, Mario, and now Sonic and Shinobi and two others from sega). Game cube will aso have phantasy star. Xbox has nothing. Maybe for newbie gamers who didn't grow up with such games the xbox might be a great system.
You must not have played the game cube then or just played one game. It has awsome graphics and the load time is nothing. Considering my father has it and i've played many games i can tell you for a fact that some of the games on the gamecube look better to that of the ps2.
The xbox hasn't earned my trust yet so i think i'll go for the ps2 when i got the funds. Besides, does the xbox have the final fantasy series? no.

i can't stand the cheap feel of the PS2 controllers, the analogues are in completely the wrong position too.
The Xbox controllers feel well made, and I have small hands and they still feel right. 4 hour (16 player) Halo matches have gone on, and i've not felt any discomfort, apart from eyestrain
The gamecube controllers feel good too, but i've not had a chance to play a gamecube for an extended time.
It has slightly, but not well utilised IMO. I've seen some games, and I still see Xbox games as more eye candy, graphics-wise.
I'd like to see how Morrowind will run on Xbox, in towns...

Well I'll be damned, GC had a price drop to 149$... Ouch!
Damn, at 240$ CDN, this thing sounds interesting. I do hope they release the new Mario titles soon, I might then be interested... I hate how they didn't use Mario as the intro title for GC, it really shows how companies have matured into competitory obsession rather than tradition.

Many complained about the controller, but IMO I love the Xbox controller. It's slick... Compared to GC's and PS2's the thing is awesome, it comes with so much features itself!
With a long wire (thank god someone thought it over again, geez it has been a while since Super NES' long wire), an attach that controls the lengh, two ports from the front AND rumble pack integrated, this has the bundle award.
Besides, MS had stated it, and we all know it, Xbox is not intended for a child audience AT ALL. I mean if children wanna go see women in DOA3 fight is off, it's their parents who decided so only.
Xbox also has a slight tendency to aim at what PC games couldn't muster. So it then boasts Mechwarrior games, and what I really am looking for soon, Midtown Madness 3!!! Damn the GFX are sweet.

Mario Sunshine is suppose to come out in august and metroid sometime in the fall. Probably for the holiday season. Zelda should be coming out soon also. Phantasy star online should be coming out for gamecube. DOn't forget shinobi from sega. Gamecube has all the sega games now. Hmmm, i wonder if mario and that sonic would team up?
Sonic is pretty cool fun game. Pretty easy though. ANd luigi's mansion is a good game also. pikmin! That game is cool!

the gamecube has a controller cable extension also. It is also made to fit the gameboy advanced too. Game cube has rumble integrated also. Gamecube has resident evil. So much for kids only.
not sure what you mean by, "two ports from the front" but the gamecube has 4 ports in the front for the controllers.
I guess you haven't seen scenes of mario and metroid have you? the zelda game looks interesting. GFX doesn't make up the game it's the gameplay. And if the gameplay for zelda is as good as the last one i'm all for it no matter how queer Link looks. heh! Also sonic was pretty graphics intensive. I know mario sunshine is gfx intensive and i hear it does 60fps easy. Which is really good considering the intense graphics.

Problem is, with what GC lacks, and that you have to buy 3rd party to use it, Xbox makes up for it. 3rd party software, as I read somewhere long ago, is not much succesful, and I suspect the internet plugins to make GC work online, may or may not be succesful as Nintendo expects it. In the end you will end up having paid similar costs to Xbox itself, as you pay for internet kits, and whatever GC wanted to add, that Xbox had (possibly the HDD).
As for controllers, I had played with a GC controller, and never have I seen 4 plugs in the front or bottom of them, I mean the controller is very small ya know?
As for the controller ports, yes there are 4, like Xbox, unlike PS2's 2 port only. I mean seriously, Sony limits so much of PS2's future gameplay by putting less value, such as 2 ports.
Also I somewhat have this feeling they might change the Mario title... I mean what's the meaning of sunshine in it? In any case, can't wait for E3 tommorow, so many new PC titles awaited for, and consoles!
