That exact card never existed. The two flavors of 9600 based cards were:

9600 Pro

-&-

9600 XT

And that's it. Well almost...a radeon x600 is basically a 9600 with pci-e interface, but I digress.

Confusingly NVidia now make a 9600GT on the AGP platform. This could potentially get confusing.

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/01/04/nvidia_preps_9600_gt/

Slightly annoyingly the PSU entry point seems to be 400W which rules out all but the latest small form factor PCs and full-on towers/gaming rigs.

I guess secretly I was hoping that all this optimisation and miniaturisation would allow the 9600GT to run on a 250PSU, like mine :)

I didn't see anything about the 9600 being on AGP in that link. I would be surprised, I don't think any of the 8xxx cards are on AGP either, except maybe an 8500 or 8400... ATI seems to be the only company keeping AGP alive with the 2600 and 3850 cards on AGP.

To the OP, you are thinking about the 9600 PRO or XT, not GT. Leadtek, along with a ton of other manufactures, made them. Decent cards in their day.

Where do you see nV having a 9600 in AGP? [:thegreatgrapeape:5]

Sofar they have no other DX10 card in AGP, I doubt they'd make the 9600 their first.

More likely a 9300 or 9500 if at all.

[:wr2:4] WTF are you doing dragging up a thread over a year old? [:wr2:3] [:thegreatgrapeape:2]
