have a 200g hard drive and use xp home. in the shared documents folder i now
have 4 files which i want to delete. when i try i get a message saying
access is denied, file may be protected, disk may be full. i have also got
to the old dos prompt and tried to delete but again it says access denied.
this drive has over 100g free space. i can move files into the shared disk
folder and then delete then but the 4 problem files still can't be deleted.
the problem files are videos used with pinnacle movie program, one has 7g,
another has 4g, the other 2 are small files. i have had other video files up
to 27g on this drive and deleted them with no problem. anyone have an idea
as to how i can delete these 4 files.

Make sure the files are not in the Windows Media Player playlist. If they
are, delete them from the play list and try deleting the files again. If
you have any other player that you use, also check its playlist and delete
from its playlist and try deleting the files again afterward.
