Help With SLI

Hi just a question reagrding sli, currently im running a gigabyte nvidia geforce 6600gt, would it be possible to sli it with the same card but from xfx say ?

Yes, you can SLI with different brands.

I wouldn't suggest you do that upgrade though.

Is there no chance of instabillity ? what about completely different cards ?

it is the same core, 6600GT. but you should think about upgrading it to maybe a single 7600GT or 7900GS, way better performance than 2x6600GT's.

Yes, you can SLI a set of 7900's.

maybe you can SLI with 2 brands, but they both should use the nvidia reference layout and the cores must be exact the same!

just my 2 cents of it, maybe i'm wrong.
make sure when you buy one, you can return it if it doesn't work!!!

or maybe take your machine to the shop, and don't do a homebuild for once.

are you sure that 7900 is better than 2 6600 gt's ?

Seriously, a 7900GT will totally KILL two 6600GTs, no contest here. Can't even be mentioned in same sentence.
