Is it worth stepping up from 7600GT to 7900GS?

I have a evga N554 7600GT card. Is it worth stepping up from 7600GT to N622 7900GS for $110 or step up to N583 7900gt for $174? For $200 you can buy a X1900GT which is better and the 7900gt is probaby a poor choice.

Is the upgrade worth the money for the performance gain or just keep the 7600gt? My 90 days is approaching so you opinion is appreciated.


Oh, yeah the 1900GTO (the best choice is not available for setup) If it was available it would cost under $150. I guess it is considered limited and not considered a setup card canidate.

From a 7600 GT, I wouldn't bother going less than an X1900 XT or 7900 GTO, especially with the next gen cards around the corner.

I would say it's a decent upgrade for the $110.

I agree, getting the 7900GT for $174 is a rip.

Ok thank for everyone's input. I guess i'll just save that extra $110 toward the next gen card. If they offer the stepup soon enought perhaps I can step towards the dx10 cards if retail is close to the market price when first released.
