Got my new 7900GTO today and man this thing runs silent compared to an X1900XT that I tried out for awhile. WOW! In any case.......

I got stock cooling on the GTO, temps in 3DMark 05/06 hit 58 degrees Celcius and 64 C in Call of Duty 2 (toughest game I got on a card, temp wise). So, 2 questions:

1) are these temps normal for stock?
2) how can I manually control the fan speed? I used to use ATI Tool, but is there something for NV?

Want to get my temps/fan confirmed before I start to OC this baby!!

Much appreciated.

That's about right on for normal temps.

I've got two in SLI, lightly OC'd to 680/1490. One runs 48C idle/62C load and the other 53C idle/66C load.

You can use RivaTuner to mess with the fan control.

You should be fine to crank them up.

Hey,! I'mrunning two in SLI my temps stay at32c and have never gone above 38c even after playing HL2 deathmatch for 8hrs. I found some really good 120cm AC computer fans yeah AC. Not only do they keep my cards cool, but they also keep my OCed FX60 2.8 at 29c and 32c full load.If your interested get back to me and I'll tell you where to find them. Not only do they do their job well, they are so quite you forget that thier running. Their made just for PCs. and run $18.95 each for the 120cm the 80cm should be cheaper,!~~~~~~~~~Stan
