Are 15inch LCDs really that good? I see them packaged with PCs in stores all the time. They're small, so how are you meant to play games on them or work on large documents/databases. If I bought one, I'll end up sitting closer to the screen!
A 15in lcd is about the same size as a 17in crt! maybe like 16.5in crt , they will be fine playing game, but large database/doc? get 2 and have mult window!
i bought a 170T samsung monitor and i use that one as my main window, but even when i use large screen applications i use extension desktop so i can use the old 19" crt. And that works great
Hey, I used a 15" CRT for gaming! Now I have a 17" LCD, and will be getting a 20" in a year or so. 15" LCD's are fine for that, it's really user preference.
Well, I guess you could say that....I think general use is like 3 hours max in front of comp. However, I often end up staying like 8 hours or even 10 in front of comp when I have a project, I so I find LCD's are much less strenuous than CRT. Personally though, I prefer LCD over CRT, for man reasons.
I also perfer LCD over CRT too if they are about the same size. I have two dual monitor workstation. One with a SONY G400(19 inch CRT) and 22-inch Apple Cinema Display(LCD). The other have a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 900u(19 inch CRT) and SGI 1600SW(17.3 inch LCD). On both workstaion I use the LCD more than the CRT. But if I have choose a 15 inch LCD or a 19 inch CRT then I will go with CRT. I think games is a lot better on a larger monitor.
