Where can i purchase mac osx 10 5 dvd?

Hello,

If possible I'd like to upgrade my iBook G4 which is currently running 10.4.11 to Leopard. It's PowerPC and I am not sure if upgrading is possible downloading a DVD. Please advise.

Thanks,
Dennis

You will need a DVD drive and you should make sure you meet the system requirements:

In my experience, however, you're better off keeping 10.4 because 10.5 uses quite a large amount of your system's processing power when you are on a G4 processor. Hope this helps!

Hi I have similar situation I purchased a used ibook G4 that came with OS x 4 and I want to install OS X 5 on it. So I bought OS x 5 on ebay and I'm having difficulties getting OS x 5 to work. As I understand it from my research Thier are 2 verstions of the OS the restore disk that came with the computer and a retail verstion the article I read says you must have a retail disk for it to work. Here is a link: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4978241 I have ordered a retail verstion from ebay and I'll let you know if it works utherwise the only other OS that I know that will run on the Ibook G4 is Ubuntu 10.4 for PPC and its use is also limited due to lack of support.
