I recently purchased a notebook for school, an Aspire AS5736z-4427, nothing special just strictly for school/research/and every now and than League of Legends lol.

When I received it, it was filled w/ just an abundant of bloatware, so I decided to reformat. I confirmed the CD-key and the windows verion (Win 7 - Home Prem 64). Apparently this was a 'geniune' verion and the CD that I used to reformat was ' win7 HP 64 was a 'OEM' version. So after I entered in the SAME CD-key that was assigned to the notebook I started to receive authentication errors.

Am I not able to use a CD-key to reformat if the version originally installed was Geniune and the CD I used to reformat was OEM, even though they are both win 7 home prem 64?
