Ipaq carried in your front pocket anyone?

Up until two nights ago, I was EXTREMELY disciplined about keeping my
PPC in my pocket or car to ensure that I didn't drop. And then I dropped
it, fortunately it wasn't damaged. I will be looking at a case for it as
a $50 or $100 case is well worth the investment to avoid spending an
additional $350 and the time & frustration to replace it. FYI, the
original sleeve that came with the PPC (HP2210) fits nicely in the front
pocket of my DRESS pants.

I have an rx 3715 ipaq and I have a belkin case that is lambs skin. it also
has a spring clip belt thing... I can clip it in my top pocket and clip
the clip to the pocket so it will not slide out. I can also clip it to the
outside of the pocket so it is out front of me! and if I really want to I
can clip it to the belt but I like it in the top pocket or out front of
me... the clip clicks onto the case so the clip can stay attached to the
clothing..

the lift flap of the case...has room for sd cards and credit cards
business cards etc...

this case is also already punched on the back to allow the ipaq rx3715
camera to take pictures WITH the case on! This is most cool!

I hated the sleeve case.... several times I just about dropped the little
ipaq sliding it in and out of the sleeve..

ok cases are avail from www.belkin.com but they also make them for HP and
are sold in the HP packaging... the best one is the lambs skin one ( do not
feat there is no fleece on the leather!)

bought it at frys electronics in the HP packaging..

it feels good, fits and holds the unit without weird Velcro, clips or other
odd methods.. it pads the unit... and best of all allows access to all
features and buttons...

I looked at about everything and this is the best solution.

The Belkin lamskin cases are really great *except* for one little
problem: The plastic button that the clip attaches to on the back WILL
pull out if you hang the unit on something (I tore my first one getting
out of the car; it hung on the seatbelt, and not all that hard,
either). When Staples replaced it (cuz it shouldn't have ripped that
easily), I took the new one, used SuperGlue gel all around the button
and the leather, made sure some got into the little "pad" the button is
attached to, and just generally made sure I got good coverage. Then I
let it dry. It's hung on a couple of things here and there, none
badly, and has given me no problems.

I guess there's a couple more tiny issues for me (Iv'e got a 2215), and
these are really not a big thing at all: lack of a reset button hole
(have to take it out to do a soft reset), and the snap closure is a
little tight to be pushing into my battery door cover (which if you
damage, will cause the batt to lose contact and do a hard reset (been
there, done that). So I just pried the snap open a little bit to
"soften" it up.

Neat idea on the button flap backwards trick. I didn't know that
either.

good news on this, which may be a newer style, the backing under the
leather that is attached to the butt is huge... and leather around it
overlaying part of it is well stitched.. I believe it would really rip the
case off to put this baby out...

perhaps they learned form the warrantee replacements you and other did and
did a redesign.

I purchased a polycarbide case as well. Prior to that was using a
leather case which would occasionally put pressure on the screen when it
was being carried.

The clear case is great. I can carry the unit anywhere, never turns on
by accident, and I can see the screen when using it to navigate in the
car with my GPS.

Strange, according to Star Trek mythology, you shouldn't have a funny
looking forehead. That didn't happen for another several hundred years -
unless your mother dropped you with you were a baby.

The truth is the foreheads took centuries to develop.
We were originally nerds who couldn't figure out how to use PocketPc's
so would smack them on our foreheads.

The rest is history!!
