I'm fairly inexperienced when it comes to video cards, so I came to you guys for some advice.

Newegg has both the BFG 6800GS and the BFG 7600GS in stock. The 7600 is $150 and the 6800 is only $20 more.

I've got a 2.8GHz P4 with 1GB of RDRAM. I'm probably going to have upgrade my power supply also. I'm just looking for a good card to keep my system going for a little while longer.

Which card would you guys buy if it were you? I'm open to other suggestions also.

i got the bfg 6800gs agp and im pretty positive on the purchase, it was a good choice because u can over clock it to equal the 7800gs which is like $75 more. stock was 370/1050 and i have it overclock to 415/1150. trying to fine tune the pipelines to 16 with rivatuner.

i can get medium high settings on pretty much everything.

just as long as u have some good cooling blowing on it or even upgrade to the zalman vga fan our fine.

Definitely the GF6800GS better at stoc and Oc'ed, and even better still when moded.

If it were a GT then it's a different story.

However in light of the other post, keep in mind that while moded and OC'ed it might get near the GF7800GS, the GF7800GS can also OC well beyond that too.
