Hello,

How can you get rid of auto-configuration IP Address??

Register or log in to remove.

make sure your connected to a device which has DHCP enabled

I hope you know what your doing as setting up STATIC IP addresses can be confusing for someone not familiar with networking.

What OS are you using? If its windows 7...

Right click on your network connection on the bottom right.

Select "Open Network"

In the new window select "Change adapter settings"

Right click on the network card you want to change, Select properties.

Click on "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP)"

Click on properties

At the top you will see "obtain IP address automatically". Select the one below it titled "USe the following IP Address".

Please note you will need a VALID STATIC IP ADDress from whoever is dispensing IP address, whether it's a switch, hub, or your ISP (internet service provider). You will also need to know the subnet mask, as well as the default gateway.
