HI,

I want to buy a 1Gb stick for myMacbook.

I would like to hear about which memory is best for laptop.

I'm talking about performance and reability.

Cheers,

Nuno

Whatever matches the specs that Apple gives you should be fine. A name brand will be less likely to fail DOA than a no-name module. For notebooks, there's usually not much you can do to improve performance, because of limited ability to modifiy settings. If your notebook can run memory in dual channel mode, then that will require a *pair* of identical modules(in speed, latency, size, and organization), but can boost the memory throughput 2x.

Are you telling me that there is no difference between a transcend and a crucial for example?

Cheers,

No, but any difference will most likely not be relevent to you. The Crucial will be less likely to be DOA (but even Transcend would probably be a 1% or less chance), and will likely have more performance "headroom", but your system probably can't take advantage of any of that "headroom".
