i found my old p2 400mhz[slot1] with 1 stick of pc133 ram 128mb, tnt2 m64, 4.3gb hdd, sound card. anyway i want to use this as a sort of tv[using a tv tuner of course]. i have another memory 64mb pc100. the pc133 also runs at pc100. would i be better off with 192mb ram 100mhz 3-3-3 or should i overclock the 128mb one. i'm guessing 192 would be better right?

Just chuck in as much RAM as you can! With a system that (ahem) vintage you should just worry about the quantity of memory you can stick into it, not timings and stuff!

yeah that is true, i mean with my pentium 2 400mhz system i got 3 dimm slots and i have 32+32+128 mb sticks of ram (192mb). My pentium3 1ghz system has ONLY 2 dimm slots, so the most ram i can install is 160mb! And its got integrated graphics so in effect i have only 154mb of ram (16mb of integrated VGA).

what do i do? more ram +slower cpu or faster cpu and less ram? well i would go to ebay and get some cheapy ram, seeing as how old the thing is... :)

yeah put more ram in (as much as you can, try to find a 256mb stick somewhere) however dont go overkill and buy a 128mb stick, they're fairly expensive and the system might only be able to address so much ram:(

my pentium 3 system olny allows me to address 512mb of ram :( slowwwww
