I was wondering, I have a X800XTPE, and can get it to run at 537mhz RAM speed (as opposed to 560) but this pushes my core clock (originally clocked at 520, down to 518)

Firstly - will this have the reverse effect and slow my games down?

Secondly, how much improvement (in terms of successful overclocking) will I see if I fitted the card with a ATI silencer 4/5? Or is it just a load of marketing hype?

Any help appreciated

Ive had it happen the overclocking has slowed down the speed also i think it has to do with the cpu or gpu does not get enough voltage, but i advise you not to mess with voltages that will fry crap.

Secoundly, The arctic cooling silencers are probly one of the best after market parts next to the zalman heatsinks. Lets say you are able to get 15% overclock which is likely those will keep it close to stock temps.
