40% efficient solar cell developed

The U.S. Department of Energy has announced a new solar cell that can convert more than 40% of sunlight into electricity. The cell, made by Boeing-Spectrolab, uses mirrors and prisms to boost the sunlight going into the cell. The DOE says the cells could be sold for $3 per watt and make electricity for 8 to 10 cents per KW/hour. Read more

Ati includes Avivo video converter with new Catalyst 6.3 drivers

Ati has released their Catalyst 6.3 drivers that include many bug fixes and a video encoder that can cut video conversion times by up to 80%. Weighing in at almost 60 megaBytes the new drivers will solves rendering problems on popular games like Farcry, Call of Duty 2 and World of Warcraft. In fact, owners of Ati Radeon X1800 and X1900 videos cards should expect to see a 5% to 10% increase in frame-rates from the new drivers. Read more

I bought an ati x1800GTo recently, i found no problem using it. but, after i'm going to convert a dvd9 to dvd5, i don't know....it's just so fast!!
usually it takes about 1,5 hours to convert it(i'm using pinnacle instant copy)
but after i have the X1800Gto, it just take less than an hour!!
but i dont like the result very much. i've tried to use another software, it didn't
works too. i wonder if it was caused by my X1800. i heard that you can convert video faster using ati X series? But i don't know if the result is that bad!!! please help me!! are there any way to stop this features??

GeCube Ati X1800Gto
1Gb DDR2
Asus P5LD2 SE
