What do red, orange, yellow, colors on LAN socket mean?

Could some one please tell me what the red, yellow, orange lights on the LAN socket mean? I have heard everything from high, medium, low speed to good connection, barely workable connection, shorted out connection to cat 6 cable, cat 5 cable, crummy cable. Seems no one really really knows.

My error - the motherboard LAN socket light colors that can appear are green, yellow, and orange. I have both the yellow and orange color lights showing at the same time. I have no idea what it means. There is no mention of it in the motherboard manual. The motherboard is Asus A8N-SLI, Athlon 64X2 4400+, Seasonic s12 600, etc etc. Appreciate your reply. Thank you.

Off No link Off 10Mbs connection

GREEN Linked ORANGE 100 Mbs connection

BLINKING Data Activity GREEN 1Gbs connection
